Role Overview:

As an Associate Staff Engineer, QA Performance, you will be responsible for driving performance and functional quality assurance activities, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring high-quality deliverables for complex digital solutions. This role demands a solid technical foundation, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across global teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand functional and non-functional requirements and the business context of applications under development.
  • Interact with clients to define the scope of testing, expectations, acceptance criteria, and availability of test data and environments.
  • Work closely with product owners to define and refine acceptance criteria.
  • Prepare test plans and strategies.
  • Estimate test efforts, create schedules, assign tasks, and identify constraints and dependencies.
  • Identify, mitigate, and resolve business and technical risks, analyze multiple alternatives, and determine potential problem causes.
  • Design and develop automated testing frameworks, adhering to project-specific design and coding guidelines.
  • Establish best practices for test automation.
  • Prepare test reports summarizing the outcomes of testing phases, and recommend whether applications are in a shippable state.
  • Communicate measurable quality metrics, highlighting problem areas and proposing solutions.
  • Participate in retrospective meetings to identify root causes of quality issues and recommend process improvements.
  • Conduct application demos for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review all testing artifacts prepared by the team and ensure defects found during reviews are tracked to closure.
  • Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to triage and prioritize defects for resolution.
  • Provide constructive feedback to team members and set clear expectations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Performance Testing and Functional QA.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or NeoLoad.
  • Proficiency in SQL and JSON, with a solid understanding of API communication patterns.
  • Experience with test case authoring, planning, reporting, and reviewing.
  • Familiarity with automation tools for API/UI testing, such as Selenium and REST-assured.
  • Experience with performance monitoring and analysis tools like BlazeMeter, Gatling, Dynatrace, New Relic, or AppDynamics.
  • Knowledge of defect management tools and performance tools like LoadUI.
  • Familiarity with Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, and integrating performance tests into delivery workflows.
  • Experience with cloud-based load testing solutions.
  • Strong skills in test planning, script creation, load generation, and result analysis.
  • Solid experience in API testing, UI testing, and regression coverage.
  • Deep understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) such as response time, latency, error rate, and throughput.
  • Excellent backend validation skills, with good knowledge of SQL.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
